There is an opportunity to join CGL’s Inventory Control Department in Livonia, MI.

What you will be doing as a Buyer 1 / Inventory Control Associate:
Prepare and enter purchase orders, verifies inventory availability, maintains database of vendors and product maintenance, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services. Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods. Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
Serve as liaison between department and outside vendors, answering questions and resolving any problems that arise relative to orders.
Instruct Sales department personnel in policies and procedures for obtaining material/products.
Analyze inventory needs.
Review backorders for purchasing needs
Process stock and customer drop shipment PO’s daily
Review Vendor acknowledgements for accuracy
Maintain and update ERP system with pricing changes
Inventory Management
Release replenishment backorders to ship daily
Process stock rotations as needed
Regular review and updating of stocking levels
Process inventory adjustments as needed
Manage physical inventory and cycle counts
Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the job:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must, with a focus on Excel.
Good problem solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be self-motivated/self-directed, flexible, experienced working independently and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management or supply chain / purchasing related experience preferred.
Experience in Enterprise purchasing systems- Infor, Infor SX.e, Trends, SAP is a plus.
Strategic thinker with unquestioned ethics
Desire to continuously contribute and improve
Business Acumen (Analytical, Project Management and Planning Skills)
